A number of technology groups have expressed their opposition to attaching an Internet sales tax amendment filed by Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) to the National Defense bill currently being debated in the U.S. Senate. eBay, Inc. is committed to protecting Internet-enabled small business retailers from any new sales tax burdens. We strongly oppose federal and state efforts to impose additional taxes on small Internet businesses, including the collection of sales taxes on remote sales.
