Talking Privacy in Australia

December 6, 2011

Last week, eBay Inc’s Global Privacy Counsel, Scott Shipman addressed the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Australia and New Zealand Privacy Summit. eBay is a proud member of IAPP globally. The topic “Privacy and the C-Suite” focused on the relationship between the Privacy officer and senior executives within an organisation including the CIO, COO, CFO and CEO.

Scott also met with the Minister for Privacy, Brendan O’Connor and discussed areas of mutual concern in the privacy sphere, as well as eBay’s current practices in privacy including managing data, and online behavioural advertising.

Scott also had media interviews focusing on managing expectations in relation to privacy and how to build trust with consumers. ITNews posted a summary of the interview and a ZDNet podcast with Stilgherrian is also available online.
