Bloomberg Businessweek recently published an article highlighting the “85 Most Disruptive Ideas in Our History”. This article is part of a series celebrating Bloomberg’s 85 Anniversary. Among the most disruptive ideas are contact lenses, the barcode, and bottled water. And ranked #61 was the “sharing economy”, kicked off by the creation of eBay in 1995.

Forbes recently published an opinion piece by Steve DelBianco, executive director of NetChoice, a trade association of eCommerce businesses and online consumers. NetChoice and its members have been vocal opponents of the Marketplace Fairness Act. In his opinion piece, DelBianco explained how close supporters of the Marketplace Fairness Act came to passing the bill this holiday season.
This year, the eBay Inc. Legal team had the great honor of winning two awards for legal excellence from The Recorder, California's leading legal news and analysis publication. For The Recorder’s third annual Legal Department of the Year awards, editors reviewed over 70 nominations to choose winners in nine different categories. In 2014, eBay Inc. received the awards in the categories of Patent Strategy and Government Affairs.

eBay Inc. was honored to recently host Roger Wilkins, President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) at eBay Inc. headquarters in San Jose.; Mr. Wilkins toured the eBay Inc. Commerce Innovation Showcase, experiencing new ways in which eBay and PayPal-enabled businesses around the world are using Internet and mobile technologies to grow and provide unique consumer experiences. He also spent time discussing the future of payments with John Muller, VP of Global Payments Policy at eBay Inc., and Gene Truono, PayPal’s Chief Compliance Officer.
The Hill recently published an opinion piece from Drexden Davis, CEO of Scrapbook.com and a cofounder of the eMainStreet Alliance, a grassroots coalition of more than 700 small online businesses that came together to express opposition to the Marketplace Fairness Act (MFA). In the article, Davis explained how many small businesses would be impacted by the MFA.
