Last week, a group of 12 bipartisan Senators, representing states sharing a border with Canada, sent a letter to the Canadian Ambassador asking that the Canadian government consider raising their current de minimis threshold.
Yesterday, the White House launched an interactive map on their blog that highlighted how trade benefits states and local communities all across the country.
This morning, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted on the long awaited net neutrality rules. In the end, the vote was 3-2, largely falling along party lines. In response to the vote, Internet Association President and CEO Michael Beckerman issued the following statement in support of the FCC’s passage of net neutrality rules:
Yesterday, PayPal hosted a panel on Capitol Hill entitled “Digital Payments Powering Small Business and Female Entrepreneurs”. On Saturday, February 21st, President Obama gave his weekly address to the nation. This week’s address was focused on the importance of modernizing U.S. trade policy and enabling American businesses to access the global marketplace. During his remarks, the President discussed how many small businesses are using the Internet and marketplaces like eBay to export their goods around the world.
As one of the largest employers in Utah’s 4th Congressional district, eBay Inc. was honored to host Congresswoman Mia Love’s (UT-4) inaugural town hall at our Draper, Utah campus on February 17th. Welcomed by Draper Mayor Troy Walker, local constituents and eBay Inc. employees filled the auditorium to hear from the Congresswoman, ask their questions and discuss issues important to the local community and the eBay community.
