In October 2015, international trade officials announced the conclusion of negotiations related to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement, which would update rules impacting ecommerce exports in the Asia-Pacific region. Negotiating countries include: Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chili, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States, and Vietnam. Altogether, these nations represent 40% of the global GDP and roughly one-third of trade across the globe.

Last week members of the Government Relations team traveled to eBay’s OPEN seller celebration in Las Vegas, NV. We were pleased to spend valuable time with the more than 1100 eBay sellers in attendance who joined us from across the globe. eBay sellers were able to stop by our eBay Main Street booth and learn more about how our global Government Relations team fights daily for legislation and regulation favorable to the hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs that use the eBay marketplace.
Last week, eBay Government Relations and Friends of eBay teamed up to host Startup Global NYC at eBay’s New York City office, in collaboration with the US Department of Commerce, the Global Innovation Forum and NYC Economic Development Corporation.
