eBay Government Relations in Australia provided a submission to the Productivity Commission’s draft report into the Economic Structure and Performance of the Australian Retail Industry, highlighting eBay\'s beliefs that the consumer\'s interest should be at the centre of policy-maker\'s consideration of the implications for the retail industry and policy reform.

In particular, the submission discussed the following issues:

- The impact on consumers and online retailing of restrictive distribution practices

- The importance to consumers of reducing postal costs and upgrading Australia’s postal delivery infrastructure to world standards

- The cost to consumers in lowering the GST threshold
