New Gallup Poll Shows Internet Sales Tax Legislation Unpopular with Americans

Last week, Gallup released new polling data that showed the majority of Americans over the age of 18 opposed federal legislation that would expand sales tax collection on the Internet.  According to Gallup, 57% of Americans opposed new sales tax collection on the Internet, opposed to 39% in favor of legislation.   Furthermore, the polling data showed that opposition by those under the age of 30 was particularly strong, with 73% of adults between the ages of 18-29 opposing new sales tax legislation.
