Montana Congressman Speaks Out Against Internet Sales Tax Bill on House Floor

May 14, 2013

Last week, Congressman Steve Daines (R-MT) went down to the House floor to express his opposition to the so-called Marketplace Fairness Act currently pending in the U.S. House of Representatives.  During his speech, the Congressman explained how he was concerned that the Internet sales tax bill would burden small businesses in Montana by forcing them to collect sales taxes in other states where they have no physical connection.  As a Member from the non-sales tax state of Montana, Congressman Daines understands that Montana small businesses will only be burdened by this legislation.
