eBay Supports Australia Consumer Rights Campaign

February 6, 2012

eBay is supporting the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s (ACCC) campaign to increase consumer’s awareness of their rights to require repair, replacement or refunds  including when they have bought a product that is faulty, unsafe or not as described.

The campaign is in response to research that shows only 10 percent of consumers understand their rights when it comes to a faulty product or a substandard service.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, consumer guarantees and safety standards apply to products and services sold to Australian consumers – whether sold online or through retail or other channels.  These apply in addition to any warranty or extended warranty that is also provided with the goods or services.
