The energy and excitement surrounding the program was felt throughout the entire Lansing minor league baseball stadium, where the kick-off event took place. The participants were eager to learn about how to grow their businesses on eBay. The day began with welcome remarks provided by Lansing Mayor Andy Schor and U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI). The Mayor highlighted his excitement for the continued growth of the entrepreneurial community in Lansing, and the Senator emphasized her commitment to small businesses.

The participating businesses attended three breakout sessions throughout the day. The topics included Setting Up Shop, Listing, and Shipping & Returns.
