This year's Spring Meeting of the Telecommunications, Internet and Media (TIM) Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany had the title “Responsibility in Telemedia Act – Finally Legal Certainty?”. The event with around 50 participants took place at eBay at Europarc Dreinlindnen just outside of Berlin. Members of the Parliament from the Coalition as well as from the SPD and the Green Party discussed the topic with industry and science representatives. There was mutual consent that there was a disconnect between the jurisprudence of the Federal Court of Justice and the will of the legislator. Therefore, a change to the law was needed and the topic needed to be discussed in the New Media Committee. Following the interesting discussion participants had the opportunity to take a company tour.
