eBay Inc. was recognized before the full California State Legislature last week for our efforts in support of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM).  Irena Halsey, the Head of eBay’s Global Women’s Intiative, joined Lise Edwards and Staci Lyons, executives from Oracle, and Ruth Stergiou, the CEO and Co-Founder of Invent Your Future, on the California State Assembly Floor to receive a resolution from State Assemblymember Jerry Hill (AD-19).  In partnership with Invent Your Future, Oracle and others, eBay hosted the Dare 2B Digital Conference in February.  Held at eBay’s North San Jose Campus, over 420 young women, parents and industry mentors from around the Bay Area came together to explore robotics, programming, blogging, e-commerce, collaboration software, networking and internet security. House Resolution 34 (HR 34) recognizes the Dare 2B Digital Conference among outreach programs that are fostering more girls, women, and underrepresented minorities to consider STEM opportunities.  HR 34 passed unanimously and was met with applause, including a standing ovation by some members.
