Issue in Detail

The Postal Reform Act

eBay strongly supported the Postal Reform Act, which was signed into law on April 6, 2022. This landmark legislation will eliminate much of the Postal Service’s debt and restructure some of its operations. Additionally, the new law codifies USPS’s 6-day delivery network for both mail and packages - rejecting proposals to split mail and packages into separate networks, which would have resulted in inefficiencies and increased prices. This was the first major legislative reform of USPS that Congress had passed in 15 years and provides significant financial relief as USPS works to improve services and operations.
