European SME Programs

eBay’s Government Relations team connects European SME-sellers with key policy makers in Brussels and other European capitals. The purpose of these meetings is to allow SMEs to directly share their concerns about legislation impacting small businesses trading online.

European SME Advocacy Block

Our mission is to regularly connect European sellers with policy makers to  highlight  the importance of SME-friendly policy. All seller participants are members of our AnchorSmall Business Ambassador Network program, selected for their dedication to helping all Internet-enabled small businesses across the EU. These sellers take time away from their businesses and their families to travel to Brussels and other European capitals to meet with policy makers. eBay launched this highly effective program fifteen years ago and we have received consistent feedback from policy makers that these meetings are highly valuable.

Retail Revival Europe

Retail Revival ProgramOn September 27th, 2019 eBay officially brought its highly successful Retail Revival program to Eastern Europe. This innovative program helps train local business owners to sell their unique inventory in a global marketplace, while strengthening ties with their local business community. Participants receive comprehensive ecommerce business training, one-on-one coaching and marketing support so they can introduce their unique inventory to eBay’s 182 million customers around the world.

Plovdiv, Bulgaria was chosen as eBay’s first Eastern European Retail Revival city with 50 local businesses chosen to join the ranks of this growing program. Many government officials were in attendance at the launch to show their support. This included members of the Bulgarian Ministry of Economics, National Agency of Small and Medium Enterprises Support, and the Plovdiv municipality. Also in attendance was Andrey Novakov, a Bulgarian Member of the European Parliament who flew from Brussels to formally welcome program participants. We are excited to help these local businesses grow as the eBay Retail Revival program continues to spread across Europe.
