eBay Speaks at Congressional Black Caucus Annual Event

eBay recently participated in the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) in Washington, DC.  The CBCF ALC is the leading policy conference on issues impacting African Americans and the global black community.  This year’s conference, attended by more than 10,000 people, featured nearly 100 public policy forums on economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, education, technology, and other important topics.  eBay was represented by Chief Diversity Officer, Damien Hooper-Campbell as well as David Pilson and Denzel Singletary from the Legal and Government Relations teams, respectively.  Over the course of the multi-day event, eBay participated in the following public policy forums:

The Black Male Vote: “What Are We Voting For?” - This panel focused on the need and importance of democracy, what issues and topics that Black men are voting for, and why Black men vote the way that they do.

HBCU House - This event celebrated Black innovation and innovators and scholarships were presented to HBCUvc, a nonprofit founded to encourage and prepare more Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) students for careers in Venture Capital.  Damien Hooper-Campbell presented a donation from eBay to HBCUvc at the event. 

The Fifth Annual State of African American Small Businesses: Increasing Wealth and Accessing Capital through the Power of Black Innovation and Entrepreneurship - This Issue Forum discussed alternative strategies for building wealth and accessing capital to unleash the power of Black Innovation.

CBC Tech 2020: TECHWORK: Black Employees Changing the Face of Tech – Provided tech companies with the opportunity to offer career development advice and mentoring to students and professionals interested in joining the tech sector.
