Local California small business owner responds to e-fairness attacks

September 10, 2013

On September 6 Campbell, California small business owner Richard Cooley submitted a letter to the editor to the San Jose Mercury News opposing claims that the playing field needs to be leveled when it comes to online retailers. His letter to the editor resulted from an opinion piece written by Hut Landon, executive director of the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association (NCIBA). In his piece Richard successfully points out that rather than successfully leveling the playing field, the Marketplace Fairness Act would actually severely hamper small business’s ability to grow and compete, a point which Landon fails to address. Read all of Richard’s letter in the San Jose Mercury News.

Richard sells a variety of items on eBay.com, but specializes in women’s handbags, wallets and bags – visit his eBay store.
