eBay Inc.'s global Government Relations (GR) team represents the interests of eBay Marketplaces, PayPal, StubHub and all other eBay Inc. businesses before governments around the world. Led by Tod Cohen, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel - Government Relations, our group's responsibilities include legislative & regulatory work, asset protection & intellectual property policy and enforcement. We have team members in 12 countries and we work in dozens more.
Policy Focus
The Government Relations team advocates for legislation and regulation that supports commerce, the interests of eBay Inc. and its community of users around the globe. Our team interacts with government officials, politicians and public policy thought leaders. Additionally, GR liaises with our merchants around the world to gain their insights on how regulations might affect their businesses.
Global Asset Protection
The Global Asset Protection (GAP) team focuses on fostering trust on all of the eBay Inc. sites. Working with law enforcement agencies, the GAP team fights fraudsters and others who wish harm to our community. They also work cooperatively with retailers to ensure fair and open trade.
Global Intellectual Property
The Global Intellectual Property (IP) team is responsible for all non-patent intellectual property matters, including copyright and trademark matters, and preventing the trade of infringing goods on eBay sites. This team works closely with brand owners to identify potential problems and respect for IP rights. In addition, this group protects the intellectual property of eBay Inc.
