As a business with a significant number of online buyers and sellers who are Texas residents, eBay commends Comptroller Hegar’s initial proposal to implement the Wayfair decision. eBay looks forward to continuing to work with the Comptroller, Governor Abbott , and the Texas State Legislature to create a comprehensive solution based on the principles of fairness, integrity, accountability, and flexibility. We will continue to advocate in Texas, and states across the country, for a level playing field for Internet-enabled small business that provides accountability, integrity and a simplified approach to the collection of sales taxes. Furthermore, we want to ensure that Texas consumers, businesses, local and state government have the opportunity to fashion a set of laws designed for an innovative economy which supports all Texans and Texas small businesses.
