Last week U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) visited NobleSpirit in Pittsfield, New Hampshire. Owned by eBay seller and Small Business Ambassador Network (SBAN) members Joe Cortese, this business focuses on stamps, coins and collectibles. Three additional eBay sellers and SBAN members joined the visit – Robbin Levin of BeadShine, Henry Jamijian of AllDayZip and Shelly Parish of Cicely’s Closet.

Joe took the Senator on a tour of his facility and then the group sat down for a productive discussion. Internet sales tax was a major discussion point and we were cheered to hear that Senator Hassan is strongly in favor of Internet sales tax rules that protect small, Internet-enabled businesses. The Senator has been a strong small business supporter on this subject for years and believes there is a pathway to more comprehensive and business-friendly legislation. Overall the visit was highly productive and the eBay Government Relations team will continue to work with Senator Hassan on sound Internet sales tax legislation.
