International Trade Administration: Plugging into the Global Marketplace

August 12, 2014

Last week, the International Trade Administration (ITA), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, published a blog post discussing the benefits that await U.S. businesses that participate in the global marketplace.  The ITA has been tasked with strengthening the competitiveness of U.S. industry, promoting trade and investment, and ensuring fair trade through the rigorous enforcement of our trade laws and agreements.

As one of the key federal agencies on trade related issues, earlier this year, eBay Inc. signed a memorandum of agreement  with the ITA creating a partnership  for U.S. trade and investment expansion.  The partnership focuses on increasing awareness of the economic benefits of trade, specifically the important role that small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) can play in growing America’s export economy.  As part of that partnership, eBay Inc. and the ITA hosted a webinar  highlighting some of the technical solutions that have been created in the last few years that make exporting easier for small technology enabled businesses.
