eBay Seller Advocacy Day at Utah Capitol

March 4, 2015

Last week, Utah eBay sellers went to the Utah State Capitol to meet with their legislators on issues affecting Internet-enabled small businesses throughout the state. The legislators heard firsthand how eBay Inc. and its community of sellers – like Jester’s Jerseys, MDG Sales, LLC, and Stitchery Xpress - are creating jobs and investing in their communities, and why it is important to preserve this environment in support of the state’s continued economic growth.

As one of the largest private employers in Utah, and the largest in the City of Draper, eBay Inc. and its community of sellers are strong contributors to the economic growth of the state. Millions of small businesses all across the country depend on the Internet and marketplaces like eBay to reach a global audience. It will be these small businesses that will be impacted the most if Internet sales tax laws are created without the inclusion of small business protections and privacy considerations.

eBay Inc. would like to thank the Senators and Representatives that took the time to meet with our fantastic Utah sellers! We look forward to continuing to serve as a trusted voice and resource as proposals that address issues such as Internet sales tax come before the legislature.
