eBay Inc. Particpates in Ministerial Conference on Cross Border Trade

April 17, 2014

This week, eBay Inc. participated in a ministerial conference on Cross Border Trade organized by the French Ministry of Economy and Digital Affairs.  More than 280 people attended the conference, including French SMEs interested in exporting, representatives of French administrations, and digital trade association representatives.

The conference hosted two roundtables that focused on SME cross border trade.  Two French eBay merchants participated on the panels.  Not only were they able to share their cross border trade story, but they explained how digital platforms, like eBay and PayPal, have removed barriers to cross border trade and have provided opportunities to engage in the global market.

Also attending the conference was newly appointed Deputy-Minister for the digital Economy, Axelle Lemaire.  During the conference, the Deputy-Minister announced the creation of the “Cap e-xport” webpage, which will provide public information to support SME online exports.  The website will also provide SMEs the opportunity to leverage webinars in order to share best practices and create a guide that will provide tips and tools on how to launch and boost online exports by French SMEs.
