Last week, Congressman Tom Graves (R-GA) released a press statement explaining why he was opposed to the Internet sales tax bill that recently passed the U.S. Senate.  In his statement, the Congressman shared his belief that “the right approach to tax fairness is to reduce rates—not force higher rates onto others” and that Congress should not “seek to level the playing field by imposing higher taxes and new burdens on competitors and consumers”.

On Wednesday, three Members of Congress went to the House floor to express their opposition to the so-called Marketplace Fairness Act that is currently pending in the House of Representatives.  Congressman Massie (R-KY), Congressman DeSantis (R-FL) and Congressman Daines (R-MT) spoke about their concerns on how the Internet sales tax bill would negatively impact small businesses and consumers all across the country that use the Internet.
