Last week, PayPal hosted a roundtable in Washington, D.C., for policymakers and industry representatives on the exciting developments in the mobile payments ecosystem.  Mobile is revolutionizing how people shop and pay, becoming the digital center of peoples' lives.  As a global leader in mobile commerce, PayPal helps people transact anytime, anywhere and in any way.  The company is a driving force behind the growth of mobile commerce and processed $27 billion in mobile payment volume in 2013.

The so-called Marketplace Fairness Act is expected to see some discussion in the House of Representatives very soon.  After the Senate failed to follow regular legislative procedure before passing the bill last spring, House leadership publicly announced that Internet sales tax legislation would not be brought to the House floor before being fully vetted by the House Judiciary Committee.

This week Tod Cohen, Vice President of eBay Inc. Global Government Relations, was interviewed on eBay Radio about the work our team does to protect eBay Inc. and its community of users. Specifically Tod spoke with Griff and Lee of eBay Radio about the negative effects the Marketplace Fairness Act would have on small web-enabled businesses.
