eBay Inc. was proud to host Utah State Senator Daniel Thatcher and Representative Kim Coleman on a tour of eBay’s LEED ‘Gold’ Certified data center in South Jordan last week. The Senator and Representative engaged with staff on the technical aspects of the center, the employment it provides and the clean energy innovations and efficiencies to which eBay Inc. is committed.

The Senator and Representative were able to take a look at the center’s Bloom Energy Servers which serve as the data center’s primary, on-site power source – the first data center in the world to do so. These Bloom fuel cells not only increase the center’s efficiency and lessen our environmental impact, but also boost the performance of our commerce platforms by reduction the risk of outages.

Thank you to the Senator and Representative for taking time to learn more about eBay Inc.’s operations in Utah! Find out more about Senator Thatcher by clicking here or following him on Twitter. Find out more about Representative Kim Coleman by clicking here or following her on Twitter.
