NALC Opposes Marketplace Fairness Act

November 15, 2013

This week National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) President Fredric Rolando sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) stating NALC's opposition to the Marketplace Fairness Act as it is currently written.  Specifically, NALC is concerned with the inadequate small business exemption and its potentially devastating impact on eBay sellers nationwide.  eBay sellers collectively constitute the single largest package customer for the USPS.  Thus, the ability for eBay sellers to continue to do business in the U.S. is of paramount importance to the U.S. Postal Service and the letter carriers that support the USPS.  eBay Inc. is excited that NALC and President Fredric Rolando have voiced their support in this important fight against unfair tax legislation.
