eBay Power Seller Makes the Case for Net Neutrality

To help set the technology policy agenda for the incoming Congress and Administration, the Washington, D.C. office of Google recently hosted a media event entitled, Tech Agenda 2009: Building an Infrastructure for a 21st Century Economy.

eBay Power Seller Jennifer Canty (eBay ID: dyscern) served on the panel alongside influential thought leaders of the tech and energy industries. Jennifer highlighted the importance of the Internet to small business and online entrepreneurs like herself. Specifically, she made a strong case for the continued need for net neutrality.

More than 150 Capitol Hill, Executive and Legislative Branch staffers, think tank representatives and members of the media attended this on-the-record discussion. Other panelists included: Gigi Sohn, President, Public Knowledge; Ben Scott, Policy Director, Free Press; Stephen J. Ezell, Senior Analyst, ITIF; Harry Wingo, Policy Counsel, Google; and Michael Oldak, Senior Director, Edison Electric Institute.
