eBay Participates in World Economic Forum Annual Meeting

January 22, 2016

The World Economic Forum’s annual meeting is underway in Davos, Switzerland and the participants include eBay CEO Devin Wenig. In recent years trade, economic development and globalization have all been major topics of discussion at the event, in addition to being subjects of great importance to eBay. In particular, the eBay Government Relations team has been involved in the E15 Initiative, a joint effort between the WEF and the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development.

The E15 Initiative has been underway for two years and has involved nearly 400 trade policy experts working on 15 topic areas and 3 task forces. eBay is fortunate that our own Brian Bieron, Executive Director of eBay Public Policy, has been heavily involved with this effort as a member of the Trade in Services Group. In the group’s initial report, the first recommended topic is “Scale Internet-enabled SME trade”. On behalf of all eBay Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) customers around the world, we’re proud to have had a hand in making the topic of SME global commerce a part of the global trade agenda.
