eBay Inc. Releases Statement on California Climate Leadership Proposals

February 11, 2015

David London, Senior Director of Government Relations for eBay Inc., congratulates Senate Pro Tem, Kevin de León, at the announcement of the climate leadership package.

eBay Inc. was pleased to join California Senate Pro Tempore, Kevin de León, and Senators Hueso, Wieckowski, Pavley, Leno, Jackson, Allen and Assemblymember Rendon and others as they introduced a legislative package that included historic milestones for California’s clean energy and climate change goals, aiming to advance California’s economy and continue leadership on these issues worldwide. Many from the business, environmental and labor community were in attendance lending support for their efforts, including eBay Inc.:

“As a global company, eBay Inc. is committed to becoming a leader for greener commerce with the belief that environmental stewardship and good business go hand in hand. We believe that making environmentally conscious investments increases the reliability of our power supply and stabilizes operating costs while also reducing our environmental impact – benefits that support continued growth and innovation across all of eBay’s properties and geographies.

We applaud the Pro Tem’s leadership on getting California closer to its GHG reduction goals and for recognizing what’s good for business and what’s good for the environment are not mutually exclusive.”

From installing San Jose’s largest solar installation on our campus, to building energy-efficient, LEED Gold certified buildings in California and throughout the world, eBay Inc. is continually working to understand and manage the effects of our business on the environment in powerful new ways. We thank the Pro Tem and the Senators for their leadership and look forward to continuing to work with them as these proposals advance.
