eBay Inc.’s Grassroots Campaign Sends Over 50,000 Emails to Capitol Hill on Trade

March 3, 2015

Various Washington D.C. news outlets, including The Hill and Politico, recently highlighted the trade policy grassroots campaign launched by eBay Inc.’s Main Street program. eBay Main Street is a platform that enables eBay users unique opportunities for civic engagement around public policy matters that impact online commerce, such as trade. Within only a few weeks, thousands of sellers and buyers from the eBay community joined the grassroots campaign effort, sending over 50,000 pro-trade emails and tweets to their Members of Congress. The emails sent to Capitol Hill urged Members of Congress to, “champion trade policies that ensure small businesses can grow and thrive through the global marketplace” and support the modernization of U.S. trade policy.
