Last week eBay’s Washington D.C. office held an event to celebrate eBay’s 20th Anniversary, 15th year in Washington D.C. and 10th year promoting the highly successful eBay Main Street program. This celebration was held at the top of the iconic Hay Adams hotel directly across the street from the White House, with spectacular views of the Washington and Jefferson memorials. In attendance were more than 300 of eBay’s closest contacts in the public policy space, including Congressional and Administration staff, as well as a good number of local eBay sellers.
In addition to celebrating eBay’s anniversary and our public policy-focused programs, the event also served as an introduction to the new, post-separation eBay Government Relations team – including new eBay General Counsel Marie Huber – to some of our most important contacts in Washington D.C. The party allowed the new eBay GR team to network with long-time eBay Congressional contacts, thus keeping these extremely important relationships alive.
Besides bringing various groups together, the event featured a live auction leveraging the eBay Giving Works platform and raising funds for the Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America. This auction is live through Wednesday, October 7th so we encourage you to bid on these items and support a very worthy cause.
