eBay Government Relations team sponsors a Campbell Middle School Career Day

  

 eBay Government Relations was the proud sponsor of Campbell Middle School’s first ever Career Day. Campbell Middle School hosted its first ever Career Day on Thursday, May 27, 2010 for eighth grade students.  The day ran from 8:45 am to 1:00 pm.  The students had an opportunity to select four separate breakout sessions with speakers representing a wide range of careers. Over thirty different speakers participated and lead individual sessions.

eBay Sends Letter Supporting Genachowski with Open Internet Coalition

  

eBay and the Open Internet Coalition sent a letter to FCC Chairman, Julius Genachowski supporting the development of a plan to bring broadband to all Americans.  It begins:As Internet and technology companies, we strongly support the deployment of better and faster broadband transmission services as quickly as possible. Broadband serves as the critical “on-ramp” for consumers to access the full richness of the Internet. We applaud the effort by the Federal Communications Commission to develop a plan to bring broadband to all Americans.

Senate Committee discusses small business and entrepreneurship

  

On May 13th, eBay top seller, Chris Chapman, participated in the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s roundtable on Connecting Main Street to the World: Small Business Perspectives on Internet Access. Chris was one of 11 small business leaders from across the country invited to participate in this discussion regarding the importance of Internet access to small businesses of every kind, including online commerce.
